So, what is a CMS?

CMS stands for Content Management System. Dynamic websites typically store their content in a database. So, the main goal of a CMS is to give the website owner an interface where he/she can manage their website's content.

With a CMS, the client can typically make changes to his/her website themselves, without having to get a web designer to do those changes, thus saving money and time.

The most basic form of a CMS would at least allow the website owner to change something on their website. This can be something simple like a single line, or a single page, or all the pages.

There are numerous open source CMS's out there, meaning they are 100% free to download and use on your website. The biggest problem with these Open Source/Free CMS's is that they are too powerful for the regular guy to use - they allow you to do too much.

Our own CMS, dubbed the RGCMS

After using some of the open source CMS's out there, we have found that they are simply too complicated for the regular client to be able to effectively use as a CMS. Thus the RGCMS was born. The main idea behind the RGCMS is to be as easy as possible for the user to use, and to give him access to his own website, without overloading him/her with complicated features, especially ones that would allow him to make changes to the site that could possible break it.

Here is a list of some of the features of our RGCMS:

  • Extremely easy to use
  • Template and admin panel are completely separate, allowing for a more custom designed website (where other CMS's has a pretty standard look and feel)
  • Add/edit/delete as many pages as you want
  • Save money by doing changes to your website yourself
  • Create photo galleries, with albums and unlimited photos
  • Use our unique and very easy to use Form Builder, to create contact forms, order forms, etc.
  • Development blog with various tutorials on how to certain things with the CMS
  • Free email support

Feel free to contact us if you are interested in our RGCMS, or get more information on our CMS.
